Axe - cut, removal;
Backing - support;
Bar - exclude, forbid;
Blast - explosion;
Blaze - fire;
Boss - director;
Clash - dispute;
Curb - restrain, limit;
Drama - tense situation;
Drive - campaign, effort;
Go-ahead - approval;
Hit - affect badly.
Examples:
I'll ask my boss if I can leave work early tomorrow.
