1. We use "a/an" with singular countable noun:

An apple

There is an apple on the desk.
 
2. We use "some" with plural countable nouns:

Some apples
 
I want to buy some apples.

3. We use "some" with uncountable nouns:

I need some money.
 
4. Be careful with uncountable nouns. Use verbs in singular.

Information, advice, weather, news, bread, hair, furniture, work.

It’s hard work.
 
I’m going to buy some bread.
